  I travel all over the country, and go out of my way to find good diners, and this is by far my favorite. A perfect blend of good food, great staff, and a cool retro style. A perfect piece of Route 66.

  Places like this are why I love traveling Route 66. I always stop at family owned diners and restaurants. You get the best food and service at a good price and you get to see the same people each year. You don't get that experience at big name franchises.
  
  We stay down the road at the Motel Safari and get up bright and early to eat at Kix. I like the retro diner atmosphere. It is my understanding the same family owns Del's which is another great place. We usually eat dinner there (not on Sundays) and then breakfast at Kix.

  My mother loves to travel down Route 66. It is too bad that they did not have any shirts with their names on it. My mom would have bought one. I'm so happy we stopped. Our waitress was awesome. She even handed me the menu for dogs! Pets are allowed to be on the patio as long as they are calm.
